WHERE:  Lake Champion, a Young Life camp at the foot of the Catskill Mountains near Glen Spey, New York.

WHEN:  June 22rd - June 29th, 2024

DEPARTURE:  Saturday, June 22nd at 11:30 pm from Mason High School.

RETURN:  Students will leave Lake Champion in the afternoon on Friday, June 28th and will arrive back at Mason High School before sunrise on Saturday, June 29th.

COST:  $1,050.  A non-refundable deposit of $200 is required to hold your spot.

About Young Life Camping:

Young Life summer camp is an experience that we guarantee will be one of the best weeks of your life. Young Life camping involves high adventure, lots of fun, great food and excellent speakers who understand and respect high school kids.  At Young Life camp, kids are treated to resort-quality facilities for which Young Life has become known for. As Young Life's worldwide outreach continues to grow, our camping program is expanding as well, with Young Life-owned or leased camps in a number of international locations.  Regardless of the facility, the experience is the same — kids getting away from the pressures of everyday life, having fun with friends and their Young Life leaders, and hearing the message of God's love in terms they can understand.  We believe that those going on this trip will experience one of the best weeks of their lives.  We will be safely transported on professionally driven Greyhound-type highway buses. As we approach the date of our trip, you will receive more information via email, including exact send-off and arrival times and location, as well as what to pack.

Who will be there?

If you are a current student at Mason high school, you are invited to come with us!  We currently have 175 spots to fill, and we'll camp alongside 300 more high school students from around the country.

What does the cost include?

The cost for summer camp includes the charter bus transportation, lodging, meals, and all recreation activities.  Students will need a little money for meal stops on the way to and from camp. Extra money is only needed at camp if your student wants to buy some snacks in between meals at the snack bar or if they'd like to buy anything in the camp store.

Are there fundraising opportunities? 

Students, are you interested in fundraising for your trip?  You can create a YL Summer Camp Fundraising page to share with friends/family/neighbors, where any money you raise will be subtracted from your final camp fee.

When is the total camp cost due? 

The total cost is due before we leave for the trip. You will have your own personalized link to pay, and you can make numerous smaller payments throughout the year if that is helpful.

What is the phone policy? 

We will be collecting phones when students get off the bus. We believe disconnecting from our devices helps enhance our overall experience with each other and God as it minimizes distractions.  We will provide a phone number you can call to get in touch with camp property staff in case of an emergency on your end.  Students can use camp phones to call home and check-in if they want.  In regards to pictures, we have a videographer that will take and share videos to everyone who attends.  Leaders and campers are also encouraged to bring cameras and to share pictures once we're back. 

Who will be the Young Life leaders on the trip? 

All of the leaders on the trip will be Mason Young Life leaders, most of whom volunteer already at Mason Young Life. Each volunteer is background checked and enrolled in a continuous weekly training program ran by Young Life staff.
